How can anyone labeling themselves Christian support Ron Paul given his liberal stance on social issues?
I’m not attacking anyone supporting Ron Paul, I just don’t understand their position. Ron Paul has pretty much said in essence that he doesn’t care about abortion, whether the institution of marriage is perverted by gays or the legalization of drugs.
How can anyone who takes their faith in Jesus Christ serious be for such positions ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Christians shouldnt pawn their responsibility of bettering society off on government………….
When you ask people to put their faith in the government, there is not much faith left for God. The religious right needs to stop asking the government to do the work God has charged his people with.

Does anyone have all the answers? No i don’t think so. That’s why we should be working together.

Funny, but Jesus never said a single word about abortion, gays, or drugs.
And you say you are a Christian. You are a hypocrite.

Ron paul is labeled as Libertarian.
This is different than Liberal/Conservative.
People choose to support him based off of their personal beliefs, not by their party platform.

Actually, Ron Paul is against abortion. Go Youtube search his video called "Life".
HOWEVER, he supports the rights of the individual to decide for themselves, and would leave this issue up to the states. Ron Paul would never consider abortion (not like he’s having children anyway) but would not interfere with someone else’s right to.

He doesn’t have a liberal stance on social issues, he just thinks government has no business telling people what to do. His personal stances are well known as being anti-abortion, anti-drug,etc. Don’t mistake his beliefs on how government should work for personal stances.
Edit: Why do people always give thumbs down for straight forward, honest answers?

You’ve got to be kidding me. Ron Paul is anti-choice/pro-life, believes the only real/legitimate type of marriage is between men and women, and thinks it’s wrong to do drugs.
How is that different from the typical rightwing Christian viewpoint? You just seem to be upset that he doesn’t believe the federal government has the power to legislate morality.

Can you show me exactly where he has said he doesn’t care about abortion. You can’t because he never said it.
Here is what he actually has said about these issues you are lying about.
"Paul sides with social conservatives on most issues: He believes that marriage should be defined as being between only one man and one woman and he does not think the federal government should guarantee women the right to have an abortion, a position influenced by his decades as an obstetrician who delivered thousands of babies. In public speeches, Paul often articulates a biblical foundation for his economic policies, framing capitalism as the moral giant among all other economic systems."

Allow me to point out something…"I’m not attacking anyone supporting Ron Paul"
Than you say "he doesn’t care about abortion, whether the institution of marriage is perverted by gays or the legalization of drugs. "
B*tch, that’s closed minded like I bet you are. Not every christian is a straight laced, backwards, homophobic idiot. I’m not christian but I know enough about to know you don’t have to be an idiot to be one. RonPaul’s alright, I don’t agree with him on financial issues but socially, yeah. So Shut up!

Because America isn’t a theocracy. Here’s the thing: Gays should have rights. Why? Because we were all created equal and not to let them do so is unconstitutional. I’ve seen so many hate-filled
‘Christians’ attack these guys and its just flat out wrong. God and Jesus told us to love and tolerate.
As for abortion, I believe that adoption is a better choice. But it all depends of the seriousness of the situation and choice.
Legalization of drugs? Well, that’s a whole different story.
What is this: R&S?

Easily.
Your little post shows your ignorance. No, he didn’t say he doesn’t care about abortion, gay marriage and the legalization of drugs.
HE SAID, "it’s a states rights issue".
with it being a states rights issue you could actually have more moral freedom than you do now. You simply convince the rest of your state that your ideals are best………OR move to one where they are already in place.
We do not live in a Theocracy and it was never intended that we do.
We are a Confederation of States. Yeah, you read that right, confederate.
Why don’t you browse through the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the Articles of CONFEDERATION? You will see Confederate quite a few times.

CHRISTIAN FOR RON PAUL. You must add……. Paul also advocates the end of policing in the world, which only has lead to death and destruction. But back to the abortion stance. Paul states that abortion should be a STATE RIGHT to decide, not the right of the federal government. A good example would be Mississippi;s person-hood amendment. The state voted, and agreed that abortions should be legal. Basically, Paul says that the CONSTITUTION states this should be a issue states decide, not the federal government.

please support Ron Paul !!!! It is time to end the wars we do not belong in!
That’s not what he has said at all. He is strongly against abortion and he does not approve of legalizing gay marriage, but he believes that the federal government should not have a say in those issues. He wants those issues to be left up to the states, knowing that each state won’t choose "right", but that is what’s necessary to have a free society.

Oh he cares about abortion, he is against abortion fully, but his position goes back to the Constitution, The Federal Government has no business making laws, The Constitution specifies that the states had the authority to decide matters of law within their jurisdiction, and just like seat belts, Sunday beer sales should be handled by the states just as an example, When you give the federal government unchecked power to control legal matters, they help no one, at least at the state level, you sir have a voice in the matter in your state, at the federal level, you don’t exist, that’s where Ron Paul is coming from, if your state takes it to a vote to make abortions illegal and wins, well some other state can legalize or at least put certain restrictions on it, but when the federal government is in charge as Dr. Paul Witnessed himself in medical school, One Dr. Aborts a pregnancy nearly full term, throws a crying baby in a trash can to die, and the next moment rushes into surgery too try and save a new born baby’s life without blinking an eye ? where is the morality in that ? Dr. Paul is 100% correct, you want an abortion ? well you’ll have to find a state that has approved it. Just my opinion, but a good question sir.
note* He has no liberal stance, period, he’s a strict constitutionalists, which is the platform of the republican party, and after some digging into their platform you’ll find Gingrich is probably running on the wrong platform.

- the legalization on drug is fine as long as you don’t harm anyone else. If you are, for example growing something in your own yard for your use only, the only one you harm is yourself. If you want to.. well, its your choice, cause u suffer those consequences.
